Gays, Lesbians, Transexuals...Oh my!

Sydney is known for having one of the World's Top 10 Mardi Gras parades and J&G were there to witness the festivities. Decked out in what we thought was our Mardi Gras finest (probably the most conservatively dressed people there) we followed the crowd to Oxford Street.

Young/old, short/tall, thin/fat Mardi Gras everyone has a spot at the parade (even all the Asians tourists who had their cameras and peace signs ready at all times). Like bees at the hive, people swarmed up to the fences just to catch a glimpse of the men and women marching about with their glitter, boas, wands and crowns. It was definitely a site to see. The excitement continued into the early morning (but after a long day at the beach J decided that her bed was much more appealing than walking the streets of Kings Cross)!

An experience it was, one we can check-off our list of To-Do's. I'm sure everyone will be sitting at the edge of their seats waiting to hear the recap of our next adventure...stay tuned!

  1. Did it remind you of New Orleans and the "Rainbow" convention?
    I agree sleep sounds better.
